Amedeo Modigliani was born in 1884 in Livorno, Italy, in a cultural environment that fostered his early interest in art. He received his artistic training in Italy before moving to Paris in 1906, where he quickly became part of the Montparnasse artistic milieu. This period in Paris was decisive for the development of his artistic language and his place in the modern world.
