This monumental terracotta jar is an authentic 19th-century piece from Java. It is an ancient vessel traditionally used to store water or foodstuffs.

Hand-formed and wood-fired, this handcrafted pottery reveals a richly textured surface with a natural patina, the result of its age and use. Its impressive size makes it a truly sculptural element, capable of transforming a space by adding character and authenticity.

Each jar is unique in shape, hue and finish, underlining its handcrafted origin. Sensitive to frost, it should be placed indoors or outdoors under shelter.

In good condition for its age, this jar shows minor wear and light losses, consistent with its history. It is an ideal collector's item for decorators and lovers of ancient ethnic pottery.
