Stylized Sudarabic sandstone stele - Antique pre-Islamic sculpture
Primitive sculpture inspired by ancient Sudarabic funerary stelae, in natural sandstone, mounted on a museum-quality black base.
This Sudarabic sandstone stele is a decorative sculpture inspired by the pre-Islamic funerary monuments of southern Yemen. Entirely hand-crafted in sandy-toned natural stone, it embodies the minimalist, symbolic aesthetic of the ancient civilizations of southern Arabia.
The stylized face - with almond-shaped eyes, straight nose and closed mouth - evokes primitive human representations, somewhere between archaeological art and modern abstraction. This model, christened "Ideograms", pays homage to anonymous faces as bearers of spiritual identity.
The antique patina and wear marks have been deliberately reproduced with care, giving this piece an authentic, timeless presence. Placed on a matte black museum-style base, the stele is stable and ready for display on the floor or on a piece of furniture.
