FontanaArte was founded in 1932 in Italy, on the initiative of Gio Ponti and Pietro Chiesa, in the context of a revival of the decorative arts and modern architecture. The house was born of the desire to enhance the glass as the central material of contemporary design, going beyond its purely decorative use to become a structural and functional element. Right from the start, FontanaArte is distinguished by an approach that combines traditional craftsmanship with a spirit of innovation.
Glasswork plays an essential role in the identity of our company. Transparent, frosted, etched or colored glass is used to create lighting fixtures, mirrors, tables and decorative objects with pure lines. This mastery of the material allows us to develop new forms, in which light becomes an integral part of the object.
