Explore the History and Elegance of Mirrors Through the Ages
Welcome to our exclusive collection of mirrors, where every reflection tells a story. From functional to decorative, classic to contemporary, our mirrors are chosen for their beauty and their ability to capture the essence of each era.
From ancient origins to Renaissance mirrors
The use of mirrors dates back to ancient times, when polished pieces of metal were used as reflective surfaces. Over time, technology evolved and glass began to be used during the Middle Ages, but it was during the Renaissance that glass mirrors became objets d'art. The mirrors of Venice, in particular, were renowned for their clarity and the delicate art of framing, often decorated with gold and precious elements.
The Baroque and Rococo Eras: Reflections of the Lavish
In the 17th and 18th centuries, mirrors became symbols of luxury and status. Baroque and Rococo mirrors were grandiose and richly decorated, characterised by gilded frames adorned with floral motifs and putti. These mirrors were not just vanity tools, but majestic centrepieces of the opulent interiors of the period.
The 19th Century: Industrialisation and Democratisation
The industrialisation of the 19th century made mirror production cheaper and more accessible. Styles became more varied, with the appearance of bevelled mirrors, mantelpiece mirrors and simple framed mirrors adapted to the rise of the bourgeoisie and less busy interiors.
From Modern to Contemporary
In the 20th century and right up to the present day, mirrors reflect artistic movements such as Art Deco, Modernism and Minimalism. Shapes became more streamlined, frames less ornate, and the emphasis was placed on functionality as well as aesthetics. Contemporary mirrors can also incorporate technologies such as integrated LED lighting or intelligent features.

Our range of mirrors includes pieces from all eras, carefully restored to preserve their character yet ready to integrate into modern interiors. Whether it's a Venetian mirror from the 18th century or a minimalist wall mirror from the 21st century, each piece is selected for its quality, history and aesthetic impact.
