The Martynoff Gallery Paris
The Martynoff Paris gallery is a team of art lovers who do their utmost to promote the most beautiful objects of art and interior decoration. The whole team revolves around Simon Martynoff who carefully manages and delegates his business which has been growing since 2003.
Simon Martynoff started in 1996 in Canada. During his stay in Montreal, then in Toronto, he discovered and assiduously followed the situation of the art market and in particular of European antiques in this region of the world. He then continued to observe this very particular market in the United States of America. It was during this period that his taste for the beautiful and the rare took shape and that his desire to share his discoveries in terms of furniture, decoration, art objects and curiosities grew. Before returning to France, he travelled to Florida, California, and then New York, the leading city in interior design.
On his return to France, Simon Martynoff began working with an international antique dealer in Chambéry who taught him, among other things, about the different types of wood and the promiscuity between art dealers, restorers and customers.
In 2003 Simon Martynoff opened his first shop in the Paris suburbs at the Puces de Saint-Ouen. This was followed by 7 others, always in the different Flea Markets of Paris. It was during this period that he began to build a team of collaborators around him. Among this team, there are antique furniture restorers, auctioneers, art transporters, but also interior design firms, etc...
For several years now, the gallery has opened a wide range of works from the 20th century, from the design style of the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s, and from the modernism of the 1980s and 1990s. Simon Martynoff is keen to work with innovative designers such as Philippe Stark, Michèle De Lucchi, Ettore Sottsass, Marc Newson, Gaetano Pesce, Mario Botta, Ron Arad, Elisabeth Garouste and Mattia Bonetti, Aldo Rossi, Tom Dixon, Pierre Paulin.
From 2015, Martynoff Gallery has developed different collaborations with major contemporary and modern Design companies, such as Eichholtz, Covet (Luxxu, Brabbu, Boca do Lobo...), Hermès, Louis Poulsen... as well as talented French and European artists and designers.
Today the gallery is located at stand 54 of the Biron market at the Puces de Saint-Ouen, where you can find a wide variety of chandeliers, chests of drawers, tables, chairs and armchairs, desks, sculptures, Asian art objects, clocks and lamps. The gallery also presents contemporary designers, small modern productions of quality, careful and innovative furniture makers with the aim of making the best works of art available to our customers, in order to make their interiors as beautiful as they wish. Simon Martynoff has always been close to his clients who are art lovers, collectors, gallery owners and, above all, passionate about the beautiful and the rare. The gallery has developed a close collaboration with great interior designers such as Alberto Pinto or the talented decorator Jean-Louis Deniot and many other beautiful French and international decoration houses.
"I sincerely believe that what we offer to our clients is not just a simple commodity, it is a spirit, an opening to other horizons, orientalist journeys or to the Rising Sun, the French, Italian or English way of life...".
The entire gallery team is firmly convinced that an interior well decorated with sculptures, antique or modern paintings, Louis XV or Design furniture, allows each person to feel accompanied by the stories that emanate from the objects that make up the room's decoration. This harmony that we wish to all our customers acts as a benevolent look, like that of a beautiful bronze bust or a portrait painted with bright and joyful colours. Decorative art and works of art are a philosophy of life, a small opening to Paradise.
