Lanvin remains a benchmark of Parisian style.

Lanvin: a house that founded French elegance and haute couture.
The Lanvin story begins with Jeanne Lanvin, she was a milliner turned dressmaker who opened a boutique in Paris in 1889. Gifted with an exceptional sense of colour, movement and femininity, she quickly established herself as one of the great designers of her time. From the 1910s onwards, the House of Lanvin became a symbol of refinement and invention, driven by a delicate style that was both modern and deeply artisanal.

Jeanne Lanvin developed a personal aesthetic based on soft lines, controlled volumes, sublime embroidery and a colour palette that has become legendary. Among her iconic shades lanvin blue, inspired by a painting by Fra Angelico, embodies the house's chromatic signature. Its formal dresses, gowns, coats, capes and flowing silhouettes have become benchmarks of Parisian chic.

The house innovated very early on by diversifying its universe: children's clothing, perfumes, decoration, tableware and accessories. Lanvin thus became one of the first houses to offer a genuine luxury lifestyle, a coherent group of creations linked by the same elegance.

In 1924, Jeanne Lanvin founded Lanvin Parfums, which has enjoyed huge success with iconic fragrances such as Arpège, a veritable olfactory masterpiece inspired by the love between the designer and her daughter. The black and gold bottle, designed by Armand-Albert Rake, became an icon of Art Deco design. This alliance between fashion, perfume, decoration and applied arts reinforced Lanvin's image as a total and visionary house.

Lanvin's aesthetic was based on movement and poetry. The dresses were characterised by supple draping, delicate pleating and intricate embroidery created in the company's workshops, which became renowned throughout Europe. The designer attached particular importance to noble materials, balanced volumes and discreet elegance. Her fashion, more than a gesture, is a way of telling a story through clothing.

After the death of Jeanne Lanvin in 1946, the house continued to develop, supported by several successive artistic directors. Each brought his own vision, while preserving the original heritage: a taste for femininity, fluidity, sophisticated colours and an artisanal approach to clothing. During the 2000s, Lanvin experienced an international revival thanks to a modern interpretation of Parisian chic.

Today, Lanvin remains one of the leading names in French fashion. Its history, colour identity, workshops, fragrances and archives make it a benchmark of luxury, admired for its balance between tradition, innovation and poetry. The company's creations reflect a refined spirit, deeply rooted in the French art of living.

To own a Lanvin piece, whether a garment, a piece of jewellery, a bottle or a decorative object, is to wear a fragment of this historic elegance, a vision of style that crosses the ages with unchanging grace.
