This large antique terracotta jar is authentic Javanese pottery from the 19th century. Originally used to store water or foodstuffs, it bears witness to traditional craftsmanship.

Shaped by hand and then fired over a wood fire, this terracotta jar has a superb natural patina, marked by time and use. Its rounded shape and neutral earthy tones make it a decorative piece with character, ideal for rustic, ethnic or wabi-sabi interiors.

Each jar is unique in its shape and finish, underlining its hand-crafted origin. Sensitive to frost, it must be protected from extreme temperatures. In good antique condition, it shows slight wear consistent with its age. A real collector's item, this large terracotta jar will appeal to lovers of authentic ethnic pottery.
