Longchamp: the heritage of a French house dedicated to leather, innovation and elegance.
Founded in Paris in 1948 by Jean Cassegrain, longchamp began as a company specialising in the sheathing of pipes and luxury leather goods. From the outset, the company has distinguished itself by the exceptional quality of its leatherwork and its modern vision of luxury, combining functionality, inventiveness and aesthetics.

Longchamp soon expanded its range to include wallets, briefcases, travel bags and other finely crafted leather accessories. Craftsmanship became the heart of the company: precise tailoring, noble materials, clear lines and an acute sense of detail defined the Longchamp identity. The family business, taken over by the next generation, maintains technical excellence while developing a resolutely contemporary approach.

In the 1990s, Longchamp revolutionised leather goods with the launch of the Folding, this lightweight, foldable, practical bag, inspired by origami, has become a global icon. This piece, combining everyday practicality, refined design and Parisian spirit, marked a turning point in the history of the brand. The Pliage became a cult object, available in thousands of colours, sizes and special editions, while retaining its minimalist look and timeless character.

But Longchamp does not limit itself to Pliage. The company is developing a wide range of leather bags, from everyday items to top-of-the-range pieces, highlighting the nobility of the material and the excellence of its workshops. Emblematic models such as the Roseau, Box-Trot, Amazone and Cavalier strike a balance between classicism and modernity. They embody an elegant, discreet and assertive Parisian style.

Attention to detail is omnipresent: carefully selected leathers, impeccable finishes, refined linings, elaborate fastenings, embroidery and precise cut-outs. The company has made craftsmanship a fundamental pillar of its identity, perpetuating a French tradition while incorporating innovative techniques.

Longchamp is also renowned for its collaboration with contemporary designers, artists and creators. These partnerships bring a strong artistic dimension to the house, affirming its role in visual culture and design. Bright colours, graphic motifs, new interpretations of Pliage and leather bear witness to this desire to explore.

Today, the company has workshops in France and remains one of the few independent family-run businesses in the luxury sector. Its vision is based on three core values: craftsmanship, creativity and elegance. Longchamp continues to innovate while remaining true to its roots, offering durable, functional and beautiful accessories to accompany women and men in their daily lives.

To own a Longchamp bag or accessory is to wear a piece of Parisian elegance. It means choosing an object that is both practical and refined, the product of authentic craftsmanship and a history spanning more than seventy years, where tradition and modernity interact harmoniously.
